Guitar Courses - Understanding Flamenco

Although flamenco is tied in many people’s minds to the guitar, it is important to know where it came from when looking for guitar courses. Within the twelfth century, an indigenous music developed in the Andalusian region of Southern Spain, an instantaneous result of the presence of Arab-speaking Moorish invaders from North Africa. Three centuries later, there was an influx of Gypsy tribes from central Europe who settled within the region, brining with them their own traditions. These 2 musical cultures came together to supply flamenco, which has remained a robust element of the Gypsy heritage. Till the center of the nineteenth century, flamenco was unheard of out of doors of the Andalusian Gypsy communities, and it wasn’t till the 1920’s that the shape became known outside of Spain.
