premature birth causes a wide spectrum of mental and physical problems for the fetus. some things may be noticed right away and some may take years to detect. we go through life in cycles and stages, so a milestone i should achieve at 3 years old will be noticed before something i should be achieving at 16 years old.

a very good friend of mine went into labour at just 22 weeks today. i am worried obviously but i have promised her mum i would find out info on what will happen and i cant find a thing. Here are the questions i need answered, 1, as her waters have broke and she has dialated will she have to give birth like normal? 2, if her twins are born now the chances are slim i know, but if (god forbid) the worst does happen will she have to bury the babys? only she has always said she wouldnt want that. I dont know what the rules are here in the uk i mean do hospitals dispose of bodies still or is this all in the past? i know this is a grim subject but i promised answers and i dont want to let her down. many thanks.

just because she has broken her water and is dialated doesnt mean that she will give birth naturaly, that depends on the baby and if it is destress.

We are currently studying natural and moral evil and suffering and have been asked to choose 1 choice and i have chosed natural suffering. I am going to do premature birth as i think it is a natural suffering matter. but i have write a bit so far but still need a bit more. can you please, please give any ideas, thoughts thanks xx

I lost my baby when i ws 20 weeks pregnant i had to give birth to her and me and my partner are suffering very badly. We miss our daughter so much, when she died i died too. It is natural suffering to both baby and parents. Baby because these things happen no one knows why, my baby had a reason to be born early because she was very ill inside me. Why don’t you use that as an idea? Babies with illnesses in the womb? Which can cause so many painful complications and even death.

So I was born two months early, I weighed two pounds.

And now I have been diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and early schizophrenia.

I was wondering if maybe my premature birth could have caused this.

The kid has less than a 50% chance of living. If the child does live, he/she has a 85% chance of being severely retarded.

Technically, 36 weeks is preterm. 37 weeks is term.

She went to the doctor and they told her she was 1cm and they did a test to see if she would deliver early. But that was all they did.

Yikes she can stay dilated at 1cm for a long time but if she’s lost ALL of her mucus plug I say chances are high for premature birth. But if it’s only little pieces, it can regenerate… I was born at 7 months and I am doing great so her baby can have a bright future ahead of him/her.’

I believe though she needs to call her doctor now if she’s lost all of her mucus plug.

I mean, I was born premature and could my actual signs be differnt from the ones at the time of my birth?

i actualy remember reading if you were born premature you are even more like the sign because it is a date and time you basicaly chose to be born

Apparently there was something wrong with the chromosomes - why would it have caused a premature birth? If my friends baby had survived (born at 28 weeks - 20 years ago), would there be any long term effects?

Looks like our little one is ready now and he is only 30 weeks. I need to find some good information about premature births and babies. Your help is greatly appreciated. I will take all the help I can get.
