Those who had a premature baby, were they big, small or average?

My twins were 4 weeks premature, but born perfectly developed and healthy.

I was shocked to find that Nathaniel weighed in at 7 pounds and Aurora weighed in at 7 pounds 2 ounces. The doctor told me that this was quite rare, and that he has never seen this in twins that premature.

Was your premature baby big, small or average?

My oldest daughter was born at 35 weeks weighing 7 lbs 4 oz and fully developed. They had the whole NICU team in there expecting her to be very small. When she came out that big and healthy, every left the room!

  1. that is rare even when having twins and they come on the due date they are normaly really small baby’s so wow yours are really big.my baby was born at 22 wks and weighed 2lb 2oz

  2. I had a premature single birth 4 weeks early. She was 7lbs 7oz and her lungs were not mature. They were surprised that for how big she was that her lungs weren’t developed and I also got steroid shots that would help them develop. I guess each birth is different and each child grows at their own pace inside. But I would say you were pretty lucky.

    but she was healthy, dont get warry they will grow quickly, withot u noticing, premature babies become big fast.

  5. I had my daughter at 29 wks and she weighed 2 lbs even..when she left the NICU 9 wks later she weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz..and now at 16 months shes a whopping almost 19 lb princess!!

  7. yeah, my baby was born at 34 weeks and she weighed 4 lbs 3 oz and she was 19 inches long, she was long but just too skinny.

  9. My singleton was born at 33 weeks 5 days. He weighed 5 pounds and 4 ounces. He was 17 3/4 inches long. Doc said he would have been well over 9 pounds had he been full term! YIKES!!
