do you think my premature birth?

do you think my premature birth caused my epilepsy? i’m 24 i was diagnosed with epilepsy at 21. my seizures are very well controlled i take medication. i also have a nerve hearing loss which could’ve been caused by premature birth. the hearing loss could’ve been genetic i’ve had relatives who had it. but no one in the family has epilepsy at all. is it possible to be born with a problem and have it happen later on in life?

How early were you born? I was born 3 1/2 months early (yes, months) and I have no lasting effects (at least none that I’m aware of!). I’m 21.

It could be that, or something genetic. A lot of disabilities don’t show up until late in your life. Take schizophrenia for example, you have it your whole life, but it usually doesnt show up until you’re twenty- something.
