Has anyone ever given birth to a premature baby?

Have you, or did someone you know, give birth before hitting 37 weeks? If so, how many weeks along were you/she?
Any medical problems with the baby?

I’ve you all "beat" lol so to speak

My son was born at 23 weeks at 1lb 2oz. he was 13 inches long. He wasnt breathing due to his lungs being underdeveloped, he had IVH (bleeding in the brain) and an open duct in his heart that was letting blood in the wrong area.

Im using laymen terms to describe the medical complications as not to confuse anyone.

my son is now 19 months old, growing strong. he walks, talks (limited vocab so far), runs climbs jumps, breaks stuff in the house, and is quite a manipulaitve little bastid hehe

im very blessed to have my boy alive and strong. good luck with everyone else’s child, preemie or not

  3. Yes, my brother was born at 30 weeks and he is fine (he’s 13). No problems, but he did have to stay in the hosp for about 2 -3 weeks until his lungs matured. But that was it.

I know of another baby that came at 24 weeks. She is 12 now and is growing like a weed. No known problems, just normal stuff like - learning the sucking reflex, lung development, etc.

Not saying there aren’t problems, but thank God for advanced technology, preemies have such a good chance of making it now a days.
