Technically, 36 weeks is preterm. 37 weeks is term.

a baby is not considered full term until 37 weeks before that it is premature.

It would be considered "late preterm"

In reality, it is basically full term (37 weeks) and has a great chance at being healthy, but the baby would still technically be considered "preterm."

36 weeks is a little early, but most babies born at 36 weeks will do just fine. If labor were to start at 37 weeks, most doctors would just allow it to progress, than to try to stop it.
