My sister is 7 months pregnant lost her plug and is dilated 1 cm. What are the chances of premature birth?
This is her third baby. Her first child was premature. Her second child was only a week or so early. Has this ever happened to anyone or anyone you know? What were the outcomes? Thanks
She went to the doctor and they told her she was 1cm and they did a test to see if she would deliver early. But that was all they did.
Yikes she can stay dilated at 1cm for a long time but if she’s lost ALL of her mucus plug I say chances are high for premature birth. But if it’s only little pieces, it can regenerate… I was born at 7 months and I am doing great so her baby can have a bright future ahead of him/her.’
I believe though she needs to call her doctor now if she’s lost all of her mucus plug.

Sounds like it could be premature. Don’t worry though any child after 5months preterm can survive

Is she at the doctor yet? She needs to go now!! Sometimes they can prolong premature birth but if she waits too long then probably not. My sister lost her mucous plug and then 2 days later she saw blood–needless to say she had her baby 3 months early. Def not a good thing so tell her to go the emerg room now. Doesnt hurt to get checked out and see what they say but it could hurt if she waits too long.
