I had premature twins 7th month. For me, I wouldn't ask anyone, but the caregiver's in the NICU and later their peds Doc. You'll find, each premie is different and their condition changes from moment to moment. (My experience). After 5 weeks, when I was visiting Twin B, who started out with the most severe problems, I suddenly was asked if I wanted to take him home. No warning or anything. I called my husband, who was 50 miles away, to come and bring us home. Unfortunately, his Brother had to stay for an extra three more weeks. Even into their toddler stage, they didn't follow any sort of pattern laid out in any book. Yes, they were physically behind for a long time, but did not develop many of the other things I dreaded when I read the "guide books". It just made me worry unecessarliy.
