My son was born 3 weeks early and was 5lbs 2oz. He wasn't premature because he was fully formed and his lungs were developed (They did an amniocentesis to make sure). He hadn't been in long enough to add all the baby fat they gain during the last few weeks. So he didn't look mature. The doctor's and nurses called him a "pretender". =) When I'm asked if he was premature, that's my answer. My little pretender.
