Her cord was tied in a knot and she stopped growing. She knew what to do though, she broke my water and decided she was coming out. Despite her lower birthweight (and the fact that I smoked, which has no bearing on the cord), her lungs were developed to 31 weeks gestation and she required no interventions. I think your best bet is to live a healthy lifestyle and make your prenatal visits ... this would include taking your vitamins .. eating healthy ... sleeping well ... no smoking ... drugs ... alcohol .. no risky sexual behavior .... all that said ... women who do everything right can still have abnormal pregnancy ... it is a blessing that we have so many normal deliveries ... and you are blessed to be pregnant ... and I would suggest that you only think positive thoughts ... stress is a negative factor too ... so keep your head high and know this is going to be a great pregnancy ... and soon you will have the most wonderful vision of your future ..
